Dwight Howard Diagnosed With Herniated Disc

Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard has been diagnosed with a herniated disc in his lower back. The star center will attempt to heal his injury through rest and rehabilitation, but surgery could be in the near future for Howard. Dwight has missed four out of the last six games and does not plan on returning for another 10-14 days. The Magic are pretty much screwed going into the playoffs, because without Howard, they will most likely get swept out of the first round. I can't sit here and tell you guys that Dwight is quitting on his team because you could tell he was in serious pain after that post-game interview in Philly last Saturday. Even though he has been a distraction and a prima donna, for Dwight's sake, let's hope he gets well soon and can suit up for the playoffs. Stay tuned for more updates regarding Dwight's health.

**UPDATE**Stan Van Gundy told reporters on Sunday that Dwight is "50-50" for the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised if the Magic shut him down for good.
